A little help on installation: Once you've received your brand new batteries, swapping them out with your old ones should take no more than ten minutes. First, make sure that any equipment that this UPS is protecting is turned off and that all power leads are disconnected. After that, you'll notice finger-sized indentations near the top and sides of the SU1000i; pull these off to remove the front panel. You will then see the battery door, which has two toggles at the top; simply pull on them to open the battery door. You can now see the batteries, so slide them out and replace them with the new ones, making sure to reuse all of the cables. To complete reassembly, install the batteries in reverse order, making sure the plug connector makes contact. Battery Care: The batteries available here are non-hazardous, sealed lead acid, valve regulated absorbed glass mat, which means they are leak proof and can be installed on their side, making them ideal for use in UPS systems. The UPS obviously has its own charging system, which is a great start because the machine will charge much more efficiently than any human can. To begin with, you should run the system without any load immediately after installation to allow it to calibrate to the new configuration. Other tips for extending battery life include ensuring that the system has good ventilation and is dust-free while being stored in a climate-controlled room, and using less than 40% load whenever possible.
